Mixed Media Portrait

I didn't really have a plan before I took pictures of lily. I decided to go with the flow and see what I come up with. After I took the pictures, I chose one this one shown in the portrait of Lily appearing to be daydreaming and decided to use watercolor pencils to create the background of a dream. I didn't want the background to look realistic because I wanted to show that it was a fantasy. The fog-like border made the portrait look more like a dream and I added in "...one day..." to create a finishing touch so that it seems obvious what the portrait is saying.
